The Candy Poem

From PTO Today

Looking for a last-minute teacher appreciation idea? One favorite (and one of the most popular searches on the ptotoday.com website year after year) is the Candy Poem. What is it? A surprisingly long, definitely clever message to teachers including such lines as "We know the kids can be Air Heads" and "You deserve 100 Grand every PayDay."

The idea is that you print the poem on a nice poster with all the right candy bars taped on. Kind of cool. And teachers love it.

One last tip: If you do use the poster, write the name of the candy bar behind the actual candy. Those treats tend to disappear pretty quickly, which can leave your poem with big holes in it.

*********

Thank you, teachers!
You are all Sweet Tarts for everything you teach our children.
You deserve 100 Grand every PayDay.
We know sometimes our kids act like Air Heads and Nerds
or like theyre from somewhere beyond the MilkyWay. (Us parents, too!)
You bring the such Almond Joy when you teach
about the Whatchamacallit and ignore their Whoppers.
It must be hard to contain your Snickers
when those little Sugar Babies tell you Mounds of stories.
Sometimes it must seem that all you do is Skor papers.
Most days you probably want to make like Baby Ruth and just run home.
Thanks teachers! You are the Riesen our kids are Smarties instead of Dum Dums.
You are LifeSavers.
With Hugs and Kisses

**********  Here's another:

We just wanted to take a FastBreak to share with you what you mean to us…
You are all SweetTarts and bring us such Almond Joy to be doing life together.
You have all been LifeSaver’s to us and our time together has been Good & Plenty.
I we could pay you all 100 Grand, we would – and what a sweet PayDay it would be – a real Skor!
We’ve had Mounds of Snickers and some real Nutrageous times on our cruises.
Remember the Whatchamacallit in Xcaret?! T
The Rieson we’re all here is to Treasure the Nuggets of Carefree time and spend some Extra Special time together.
Relax, let your thoughts wander – be an AirHead for awhile – enjoy some Zero stress time - when the weekend is over, we can Kiss and Hug put on our Smarties hat, and go back home.
We hope you’ll Take 5 minutes Now & Later to reflect on our time together, be blessed, and give thanks for each member of our group and their important Rolo in your lives.
